There’s a quote by one of my favorite photographers, Sally Mann:
“If it doesn’t have ambiguity, don’t bother to take it. I love that, that aspect of photography—the mendacity of photography—it’s got to have some kind of peculiarity in it or it’s not interesting to me.”
With photography, and all art in general, I try to highlight natural quirks and raw moments of emotion. All my finished artwork typically has an unrefined feel — I love excess scribbly lines and different textures. I want people to see that all things are part of a uniquely messy and beautiful process. Being able to illustrate that with my art and craft + document that with my photos is something I truly enjoy.
