i. i lose half a dream on thursday, and there are no heartstrings to vibrate and echo in its absence. no word that’s decent enough to take its place. there is not the tentative pause of a movie - the moment before lips touch. on thursday i lose you’re such a light, even plants seem to grow towards you — it’s poetic, yes, but if i’m being honest, maybe a little numbing too. i. and now cracked old leather reminds me of dried up lakes, smoke, white lab coats, penny-pinching, beers snuck into bedrooms, the pedal steel, pine needles, some melancholy poems, a hymnal in a church pew. ii. and i’ll be thinking about the 07.12.21: fireflies and earnest hopes are the heartbeat of mid-july. 07.11.21: just some photos from a gallery i sent out a few weeks ago — these are gonna be a surprise gift for their momma so 🤫. more favorites from this session are now up on my website! 06.13.21: the scatter of fresh blueberries on a wooden table, mango skies weighed down by humidity. / summer’s first hot breaths woven into scabby knees, sunburnt hopes, apricot-tinted aspirations.
